With iPhone Explorer, you’re able to upload files with a USB connection, regardless of the format and regardless of whether Apple wants you to use your device the way *you* want. iPhone Explorer essentially turns your iPod/iPad/iPhone in to an external hard drive and gives you access to all of the files on the device.
The program also supports full acess to photos, emails, text messages and videos. With that said, this tool allows you to backup your precious files and can also back up your iTunes and ringtone collection.
iPhone Explorer also includes a free ringtone creator for your iPhone, giving you the free ability to create and customize your iPhone just the way you like it. The ringtone editor is able to make razor-thin modifications to your ringtones within the millisecond. As a restriction of the iPhone itself, ringtones are limited to only 32 seconds.
Since this is a free application, there’s no reason not to try it if you want to back up your iDevice. The iPhone Explorer supports the iPhone 3G, 3G and iPod Touch with the Apple firmware version 4 and now with support for the iPad2.
